The R&D of Boundless Jigger series started in 2019. In April of that year we went to Kyushu Genkai-nada, Tsushima, Sichiri area to test "BJ 59/3M" and "BJ 58/4MH" with Hiramasa and YellowTail as our primary targets. In those tests, the prototype rod blanks performed quite well under strong currents and they gave us good confidence in fighting. Mid-section recovery and the parabolic action already met 95% of our requirements and got Hiramasa up to 12kg, the tip section of "BJ 58/4MH" seemed lacking clear feedback on lure operations. Later we tested the improved "BJ 58/4MH" in oil rig areas of South China Sea, the new one gave faster reaction and higher sensitivity, we finished the tests getting Amberjacks from 12 to 15 kg with agreeable results.
The latest model "BJ 57/5H" is designed for big size Amberjack, YellowFin Tuna kind of fishes. For this objective we went to the North Carolina OBX area in March of 2020 to test this model. During the tests we got YellowFin Tunas around 10kg and accidentally hooked a 80kg grade BlueFin Tuna. Although we understand that it's nearly impossible to get such big fish with #5 PE and 120lb leader, it's a chance to feel the reaction force of this new rod blank and the one-piece construction gave a parabolic curve over 95 points. We are looking forward to more tests in New Jersey, please stay tuned for new updates. With test data that prove the efficiency and durability of these new rod blanks, currently three members of the Boundless Jigger family with different power levels have been launched. They are the best among our Boat Game Jigging series and more developments for different fishing situations are coming!
